The Institute or Medicine recently elected 65 new members, including two NAKFI Alumni: Chad A. Mirkin, PhD director, International Institute for Nanotechnology; George B. Rathmann Professor of Chemistry; and professor of chemical and biological engineering, biomedical engineering, materials science and engineering, and medicine, department of chemistry, Northwestern University, Chicago; and Bruce R. Rosen, MD, PhD, professor of radiology and health sciences and technology, Harvard Medical School, and director, Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston.
The Institute of Medicine is an independent, nonprofit organization that works outside of government to provide unbiased and authoritative advice to decision makers and the public. IOM serves as adviser to the nation to improve health.
