Grant requests can be made in the amounts of $25,000, $50,000, $75,000 or $100,000. NAKFI plans to award up to $1 million in grants related to The Future of Advanced Nuclear Technologies to participants of the 2013 conference. Funds will be awarded sometime in May 2014.
The grant term may begin no earlier than May 1, 2014, and end no later than June 30, 2016. After being notified of the award, the grant recipient’s institution must sign and accept the electronic grant agreement. Checks will then be processed and forwarded to the institution listed in the proposal and grant agreement. A blank sample grant agreement is included as an attachment to this document for your reference. Changes to the grant agreement will not be accepted, so please show the agreement to your institution prior to submitting a proposal. Please do not submit a proposal if your institution is unable to accept the agreement as written. The only allowable change is to go silent on jurisdiction (Article XIV).
The agreement will be filled out by NAKFI staff and sent via email to researchers if a grant is awarded. Upon receipt of an electronically signed copy of the agreement, a check for the awarded amount will be mailed to the appropriate contact at the grantee’s institution. To expedite the award process we are asking that the institution/organization’s signed IRS Form W-9 be submitted with the grant application in section 2.6 Attachments.
Grant recipients are solely responsible for determining the tax consequences of Futures Grants.
